Fry’s Tells State To Get Out Of Town

VENTURA, CALIF. (CN) - Fry's Electronics claims the California Department of Industrial Relations is illegally demanding that it pay prevailing wages on a remodeling project in the privately owned store in a privately owned mall, as though it were a public project. Fry's says the State claims this power because of an Oxnard loan agreement with the mall's landlord, a tax deal from which Fry's says it receives no benefit. See the Superior Court complaint.
