Fraudster Gets 8 Years

The former owner of Amerifund Capital Finance was sentenced Thursday to eight years in federal prison and $20 million in restitution for a $100 million stock-loan fraud scheme that bilked victims all over the world.

SAN DIEGO — Jeffrey Spanier, former owner of Amerifund Capital Finance, was sentenced Thursday to eight years in federal prison and $20 million in restitution for a $100 million stock-loan fraud scheme that bilked victims all over the world. Spanier, 51, of Delray Beach, Florida, was taken directly to jail.
