Fraternity Roast

Syracuse University adhered to its own guidelines for disciplinary proceedings against fraternity members who participated in a videotaped roast of pledges, an appeals court in New York ruled. The roast which included skits that included racist and sexist slurs and depicted “simulated sexual activity and sexual violence” directed at people imitating women and a disabled person.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Syracuse University adhered to its own guidelines for disciplinary proceedings against fraternity members who participated in a videotaped roast of pledges, an appeals court in New York ruled. The roast featured skits that included racist and sexist slurs and depicted “simulated sexual activity and sexual violence” directed at people imitating women and a disabled person.
