Fourth Woman Sues UM Rehab Worker

ANN ARBOR (CN) - A fourth woman claims she was sexually assaulted by Thomas Higgins, a social worker at the University of Michigan's medical rehab program while under his care for a traumatic brain injury.

Jane Doe 4 claims in Washtenaw County Court that after she inquired about her treatment, the university did not inform her about "pending criminal charges against Higgins." She claims that Higgins repeatedly referred to Jesus Christ while providing her with bizarre and sexually inappropriate "counseling."

Courthouse News has reported three similar complaints against Higgins and the university, all in Washtenaw County Court.

In October 2007, a patient claimed that Higgins sexually assaulted her by persuading her to engage in mutual masturbation, then praying together, then letting him tuck her into bed "just like a good daddy."

And in separate complaints in February this year, two women claimed Higgins forced them to have sex with him to receive their "supposed treatment."
