Foster-Child Abuser Gets 11 Years

MANHATTAN (CN) - A woman who defrauded New York State and City of $1.7 million for 11 disabled foster children she abused was sentenced Tuesday to 130 months in federal prison, and ordered to forfeit the money and her interest in two homes in Florida. Judith Leekin kept most of the kids in her basement or in a shed, tied them up and did not let them go outside or go to school, for more than a decade.
