Fortnite maker pays up in government probe over kids’ privacy

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. — Fortnite developer Epic Games agreed to pay $275 million in civil penalties in a stipulated injunction with the government over its alleged collection of personal info on kids without parental consent. The gaming company must delete data already collected and also has to create privacy programs that will be assessed by a third party, and submit compliance reports to the government.
