Former GSA Boss|Sentenced to Jail

SAN FRANCISCO (CN) - A former ranking official in the U.S. General Services Administration was sentenced Wednesday to 3 months in prison for false claims against the government, including one for a casino and spa resort in Las Vegas.

Jeffrey Neely was regional administrator of buildings in the GSA's Pacific Rim Region from June 2003 until 2012, and acting regional commissioner from 2009 until July 31, 2011 - the top GSA official in the region.

Neely, 59, of Gardnerville, N.Y., pleaded guilty in September 2014 to two counts of making false statements and using false documents, including submitting a false reimbursement claim for a stay at a Las Vegas resort.

He must serve 3 months of home detention after he does his time, pay $8,000 in restitution and a $2,000 fine.
