Ford Demands $83M in Drive America Case

MANHATTAN (CN) - Ford Motor Co. claims Angelo, Gordon & Co. and Alimansky Capital Group "secretly looted" Drive America of more than $31 million after buying it. Ford says Drive America held nearly $100 million to be used for roadside assistance for Ford, Jaguar and Land Rover customers, and that the defendants' alleged looting cost the auto companies more than $83 million.

Defendant Alimansky Capital Group is also known as Alimansky & Bethell. Ford also sued David N. Roberts, senior managing director of Angelo Gordon, and William H. Bethell, a partner in Alimansky.

Ford demands at least $83 million, in New York County Court. It is represented by Dennis Tracey III of Hogan & Hartson.
