Football Coach

An appeals court in Louisiana upheld the dismissal of a former college football coach’s racial discrimination claim against the University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s board and director of athletics, finding that he was fired because of his losing record and declining attendance at games. The plaintiff, Jerry Lee Baldwin, was the university's first black head football coach.
