Food Assistance

In a settlement reached in two lawsuits from California and Pennsylvania, the USDA reversed its denial of emergency pandemic allotments for those low-income households already receiving the maximum benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. An additional $1 billion in benefits will be provided to approximately 25 million low-income households.

SAN FRANCISCO --- In a settlement reached in two lawsuits from California and Pennsylvania, the USDA reversed its denial of emergency pandemic allotments for those low-income households already receiving the maximum benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program.
