Florida Democrat Sues The Party In Primary Delegation Debacle

TAMPA (CN) - A Democratic voter has sued the Democratic National Committee and the Florida Democratic Party in Federal Court, claiming he will be disenfranchised if the Party carries out its threat to refuse to seat Florida delegates at the 2008 Party convention if Florida holds its primary in January.

The Republican-controlled Legislature last year moved up Florida's 2008 primary to the last Tuesday in January. The DNC requires that Democratic primaries be held no earlier than the first Tuesday in February and no later than the second Tuesday in June, except in New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada and South Carolina.
