A National Guard member – who was cut from the Volunteers in Service to America Program after her supervisor discovered she was the author of a book about her time as a phone-sex operator – cannot pursue her case against any federal defendant, the Seventh Circuit ruled. The woman may sue her supervisor individually for violations of her First Amendment rights.
