Firefighter Error

The family of three Philadelphia residents who perished in a fire after firefighters extinguished the blaze at their home but left them inside to die of smoke inhalation cannot seek damages from the city, the Third Circuit ruled. There is no evidence the 911 operator intentionally neglected to inform the firefighters that residents remained in the burning building.
