Fight Over ‘The Temptations’ Trademark

LOS ANGELES (CN) - Live Gold Operations claims UMG Recordings has abandoned its control of "The Temptations" trademark. This is part of a chain of cases, which also involve the "Motown" trademark. Live Gold claims UMG "has never exercised any quality control" over Otis Williams' or Dennis Edwards' use of the Temptations trademark, or its use by other UMG affiliates, so the trademark should be canceled.

Live Gold is represented in Federal Court by Michael Machat of Beverly Hills.
