Fidgeting, not obstruction of justice

SHREVEPORT, La. — An appeals court in Louisiana reversed a criminal defendant’s convictions on two counts of obstructing justice. When he was being interviewed by investigators for second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons, he fidgeted with a digital voice recorder between interview sessions, but was not tampering with the device with an intent to obstruct justice. As he told investigators, he was high on methamphetamine at the time, and did not in fact erase any recordings.
