CHICAGO (CN) -The city of Chicago falsely told female licensed paramedics that they had "failed" a flawed physical abilities test, five women claim in a gender-discrimination suit in Federal Court.
Stacy Ernst, Michelle Lahalih, Dawn Hoard, Irene Res Puallano and Katherine Kean say the city's testing process "disqualified a disproportionate number of female applicants" and "did not provide an accurate measure of a female person's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of a paramedic for the Chicago Fire Department."
As a result of the allegedly flawed or altered test results, the plaintiffs claim they were not hired as city paramedics. They are represented by Susan Malone.
