BROOKLYN (CN) - The United States sued a Rockville condominium complex for refusing to allow an ailing 90-year-old woman to live with her little dog, who alleviates her depression. The USA sued an Oregon apartment complex on similar charges.
Federal prosecutors in Brooklyn say the board of 75 Main Avenue Owners Corp. violated fair housing laws by refusing to accommodate the needs of the 90-year-old woman.
The USA filed a similar complaint in Portland, Ore., Federal Court, against R.A. Lucas Developments, which runs the Old Portland Road Apartments in St. Helen's.
