Feds Say Chinese Hacker Stole Military Secrets

LOS ANGELES (CN) - A Chinese national was indicted on five felonies accusing him of hacking into computer systems of U.S. defense contractors to steal trade secrets.

Su Bin aka Stephen Su aka Stephen Subin is in jail in British Columbia, under a provisional arrest warrant from the United States.

The indictment claims that Su, 49, worked with two unindicted co-conspirators in China to hack into U.S. computer systems to get confidential information about military programs, including the C-17 transport plane, and the F-22 and F-35 fighter jets.

If convicted of all charges, Su could be sentenced to up to 30 years in federal prison.
