MANHATTAN - Federal prosecutors have charged four people with running an international online prostitution ring that earned more than $1 million in four years. The Emperor's Club VIP allegedly employed 50 prostitutes in New York, Paris, London, Washington and Miami.
The club allegedly charged from $1,000 to $5,500 an hour for dates, which were booked online. The U.S. Attorney's Office said the head of the ring was Mark Brener, 62, and its daily operations were run by Cecil Suwal, 23, both of New Jersey.
Suwal allegedly controlled the bank accounts and supervised two booking agents, Tameka Rachelle Lewis, 32, of Brooklyn, and Tanya Hollander, 36, of Rhinebeck, N.Y.
Lewis and Hollander face up to 5 years in prison if convicted of prostitution charges.
Brener and Suwal could face 20 more years if convicted of laundering money through front companies, QAT Consulting Group and QAT International.
