WASHINGTON (CN) – In a federal antitrust complaint, the government seeks to enjoin the $1 billion merger of the Cookson Group and Foseco, both of which make isostatically pressed carbon bonded ceramics products (CBCs), which control the flow and enhance the quality of continuously cast steel. The merger would combine two of the three North American manufacturers of CBCs. Both companies are based in England, with U.S. branches.
