Feds Accuse Hospital Manager |And Drug Company Of Kickback Scheme

CHICAGO (CN) - Joseph Levato, district manager for a drug company, paid more than $32,000 in kickbacks to Benjamin Muoghalu, chairman of the pharmacy committee of a Joliet hospital, to get the hospital to buy Lovenox, a Medicare-approved blood thinner, federal prosecutors say. The indictment does not name the hospital or the drug company, but Lovenox is made by Sanofi-Aventis. See complaint.
