WASHINGTON (CN) - The Federal Communications Commission is establishing an Emergency Response Interoperability Center to make sure the public safety broadband wireless network the commission is creating is able to operate on a nationwide basis, both daily and in emergencies.
The center will be set up within the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau, which will create advisory bodies and select appropriate representatives from federal agencies, the public safety community and industry to advise the center.
