FBI Searches Home of SoCal Terrorist’s Brother

LOS ANGELES (CN) - FBI agents searched the residence of the brother of San Bernardino shooter Sayed Rizwan Farook on Thursday as part of an ongoing investigation into last year's terror attack.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said federal investigators had executed a search warrant at a residence in Corona but that no arrests had been made.

"The affidavit in support of the warrant has been sealed by the court and we are, therefore, prohibited from commenting on the nature of the search," Eimiller wrote in an email.

According to a law enforcement source cited in several reports, Farook's brother Syed Raheel Farook lives at the residence.

To date, Enrique Marquez Jr. is the only person arrested in connection with Farook and Tashfeen Malik's attack at a holiday party last December. Marquez is charged with providing material support to the couple in the form of assault rifles and explosives.

Farook and Malik opened fire on county employees at the Inland Regional Center in December, killing 14 people and injuring 22. They were killed the same day after a shootout with the police on the streets of San Bernardino.

The FBI this week also won a court order that compels Apple to assist in its efforts to unlock Farook's iPhone 5. Apple has said it will challenge the order in court.
