Father Sues Son Over OC Choppers

GOSHEN, N.Y. (CN) - A man who gained fame with his son on the "American Chopper" TV show has sued his son for control of Orange County Choppers. Paul Teutul Sr. claims Paul Jr. misappropriated assets and engaged in "competitive business activities" that hurt their company.

In his complaint in Orange County Court, N.Y., the dad claims his son ignored his requests to determine the value of proportionate ownership interests and shares in the bike shop. Paul Sr. says he has been trying to resolve corporate and employment issues with his son for 6 months.

The Teutuls started the business in 1999, and they became famous through the "American Chopper" reality TV show, which premiered in 2002 on the Discovery Channel.

Paul Sr. seeks a ruling for specific performance so he can pursue his legal option to buy out his son's shares. He is represented by Richard Mahon with Tarshis, Catania and Liberth, of Newburgh, N.Y.
