FARC Commander Gets 20 Years for Cocaine

WASHINGTON (CN) - A commander in the FARC, a Colombian guerrilla group, was sentenced Friday to 20 years in prison for conspiring to import tons of cocaine to the United States. Jorge Enrique Rodriguez Mendieta aka Ivan Vargas, 47, pleaded guilty in December.

The State Department calls the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia a terrorist organization.
