Fan Says DJ Skrillex’s Antics Caused Stroke

LOS ANGELES (CN) - A fan of Skrillex claims she suffered a stroke after the star DJ jumped into the crowd at one of his concerts.

In a Superior Court lawsuit for battery and negligence, Jennifer Fraissl claims Skrillex (Sonny John Moore) "negligently, recklessly and deliberately" struck her during a Feb. 11, 2012 concert at the Belasco Theater.

Skrillex "jumped into the crowd from on top of his DJ table, elevated numerous feet from the stage itself, thereby increasing the risks inherent in jumping from a performance stage into a crowd and increasing the risks of harm to those concertgoers who he would land on," the 5-page complaint states.

Fraissl claims the DJ signaled to fans to move closer to the stage before he jumped, "reducing the ability of concertgoers to protect themselves" and increasing "the risks of harm to those concertgoers who he would land on."

Belasco Theatre security did nothing to stop Skrillex from walking back over the crowd feet-first to return to the stage, Fraissl adds.

"Due to the overcrowded nature of the event, plaintiff could not reasonably avoid contact with Moore and at no point did plaintiff consent to the unwelcome contact," the lawsuit states.

Fraissl seeks general, compensatory and exemplary damages and costs.

Named defendants are Skrillex, Lost Boys Touring, Belasco Entertainment Theater and Belasco Unlimited.

Fraissl is represented by Seth Rosenberg with Minami Tamaki of San Francisco.
