FRESNO, Calif. — The California Department of Fish and Wildlife is entitled to a stay of a lawsuit brought by falconers challenging regulations that require them to consent to unannounced, warrantless searches of their properties and records to obtain or renew their falconry licenses. The department has removed the language regarding the warrantless inspections in the applications, so the falconers are unlikely to suffer an injury if the case is stayed while official amendments to the regulations make their way through the approval process.
