Fairchild Corp. Files Chapter 11

WILMINGTON, Del. (CN) - Aerospace manufacturer Fairchild Corp. filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Wednesday, declaring debts of $228 million, but said it will continue operating. Sales of Fairchild stock have been stopped pending release of information about the company's finances, the company said. The company and a long list of subsidiaries also do business in real estate and motorcycle apparel.
