WASHINGTON (CN) - Certain AVOX Systems and B/E Aerospace oxygen cylinder assemblies, which store oxygen in airplanes in case the cabin should lose pressure, must be removed due to potential rupture.
A rupture could cause plane damage that could depressurize the cabin.
Certain lots of the cylinders were manufactured without sufficient strength due to improper heat treatment. A Federal Aviation Administration airworthiness directive lists the plane models which must be checked for these cylinders. The models include planes made by Boeing, Airbus, Gulfstream and McDonnell Douglas.
