Exotic Dancer Says Colleagues Stabbed Her

DALLAS (CN) - Dancers at a Rick's Cabaret International-owned gentlemen's club beat and stabbed a fellow dancer while management refused to call the police, the woman claims in a lawsuit.

Nitucha Gabriela Al-Zouhbi, of Dallas, sued the Houston-based adult club chain in Dallas County Court.

She claims she was stabbed on April 16, 2012, at the Silver City Cabaret in Dallas.

"Plaintiff was brutally attacked by dancers/prostitutes that you had working at your club," the complaint states. "While plaintiff was being beaten and stabbed, your security and other employees did nothing. Even though your managers were aware of the potentially dangerous situation, they did nothing to prevent it from happening. Even more disturbing is the fact that while plaintiff was lying helpless and near lifeless on your floor, managers were instructing other dancers and staff members to not call the police."

Al-Zouhbi claims Rick's allowed girls with criminal and violent backgrounds to work as dancers. She says Rick's failed to provide trained security guards and failed to supervise the dancers to act in a safe and reasonable manner.

"Although events similar to the one that caused the injuries had previously occurred, defendant failed to take any corrective action to prevent a recurrence of the problem," the complaint states.

Rick's did not immediately respond to a request for comment Monday.

Founded in 1983, Rick's operates clubs in New York City, Miami, Philadelphia, Dallas, Fort Worth and Las Vegas, among other places. The company went public in 1995 and is listed on the NASDAQ exchange. Anna Nicole Smith purportedly met her future husband, oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall, while dancing at a Rick's club, according to Rick's website.

Al-Zouhbi seeks actual and punitive damages for negligence. She is represented by Ray Jackson in Dallas.
