AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas Court of Criminal Appeals stayed the execution of John Hummel for 60 days due to the current health crisis caused by COVID-19 and “the enormous resources needed to address that emergency.”
Hummel, who was supposed to be executed Wednesday, was sentenced to death for the 2009 murders of his pregnant wife, father-in-law and young daughter.
