(CN) - A former Secret Service agent has no legal recourse to force the agency to reinstate her Top Secret security clearance after she passed counterfeit money, the Federal Circuit ruled.
The Secret Service revoked former Special Agent Sarah Oryszak's security clearance after concluding that she used fake money. Because having a Top Secret security clearance was a requirement of her job, she was fired.
Oryszak sued, claiming the decision was arbitrary.
The Washington, D.C.-based appeals court sided with a district court, which dismissed the complaint because the Secret Service's decision was "committed to agency discretion."
