(CN) - The Michigan Supreme Court rebuked former Justice Elizabeth Weaver for secretly recording court deliberations and then releasing the transcripts.
Undaunted by the rebuke from five of her six former colleagues, Weaver announced in a press conference that she did nothing wrong and planned to release more transcripts.
Justice Robert Young had been campaigning for re-election in October when Weaver released a transcript of a court meeting to discuss a 2006 case.
Young, who is black, used the N-word during the meeting, according to media reports.
Weaver had resigned from the bench over the summer, and she criticized Young for inappropriate language, saying he should be defeated in November. Young ultimately won election to the court.
