LOS ANGELES (CN) - Former Chicago Bulls basketball player Ronnie Brewer pleaded no contest to driving under the influence, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
The NBA player was arrested after a traffic stop on Feb. 19 near the Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive intersection in Beverly Hills.
Superior Court Judge Edward Moreton sentenced Brewer, 29, to three years summary probation and three months of alcohol abuse classes. The basketball player must attend 10 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and pay $390 in fines, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said in a news release.
Brewer entered the plea through his attorney. He admitted to driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content or higher, with a concentration of blood alcohol of more than 0.15 percent by weight.
Beverly Hills Police Department investigated the case.The Bulls waived Brewer in July.
