The European Commission said Thursday its goal to train half of the continent’s 700,000 legal practitioners on EU law or laws of other member states by 2020 remains ahead of target, with nearly 500,000 trained so far – over 124,000 in the last year alone.

BRUSSELS – The European Commission said Thursday its goal to train half of the continent’s 700,000 legal practitioners on EU law or laws of other member states by 2020 remains ahead of target, with nearly 500,000 trained so far – over 124,000 in the last year alone.

Legal practitioners in the EU include lawyers, judges, prosecutors, court staff, bailiffs and notaries.
