EU Hits Microsoft With Record $1.3 Billion Fine

BRUSSELS, Belgium - The European Commission imposed arecord $1.3 billion fine against Microsoft on Wednesday for failing to fully comply with a 2004 antitrust order to make technical information available to competitors working on Microsoft-compatible software.

European regulators have fined Microsoft a total of $2.4 billion in a longstanding dispute over the software giant's alleged abuse of its global market domination.
