EU Court Tackles Member State Driver’s Licensing

LUXEMBOURG (CN) - Germany must recognize driver's licenses issued by states in the European Community, even after a driver's German license has been withdrawn, the European Court of Justice ruled.

However, Europe's highest court said member states may refuse to recognize licenses from other member states during temporary license suspensions.
