TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (CN) - Scuba Schools International's negligence contributed to the death of a student at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, whose lungs overexpanded during a scuba-diving drill, his estate claims in Tuscaloosa County Court.
The lawsuit claims Zachary Moore died during an exercise that required him to ascend to the surface of the pool without his diving equipment. The instructor of the class was not present at the time, the suit claims, because she was giving a private lesson to an individual who was neither enrolled in the university nor the class.
The suit names Venture Sports and Outdoors, instructor Allison Gibson, Concept Systems Inc. dba Scuba Schools International Inc. as defendants.
