Estate Says Tire Shredding Machine|Battered Man For Nearly An Hour

HAMILTON, OHIO (CN) - A man was mangled and killed by being trapped inside a tire-shredding machine for 50 minutes, his family claims in Butler County Court. Scott Johnson's estate sued his employer, Rumpke of Ohio, and Columbus McKinnon Co., which made the machine.

The estate also sued The Labor Co., which allegedly placed Johnson in the job with inadequate training.

Johnson's gruesome injuries are described in the complaint. Even his watch was destroyed by the machine, which lacks safety devices, according to the complaint.

Johnson's family is represented by Elizabeth Ann Yauch of Trenton, Ohio.
