EPA Shirks Its Duty To Protect|Florida’s Water, Environmentalists Say

TALLAHASSEE (CN) - The U.S. EPA refused to do its statutory duty and propose a water quality standard for the State of Florida, which also has failed its duty to do that, five environmental groups claim in Federal Court. Ten years after the EPA declared Florida needed to "prompt(ly)" develop water standards for phosphorus and nitrogen contents, neither the EPA nor Florida has done that, lead plaintiff Florida Wildlife Federation says.
