EPA Confirmation Battle

The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee voted 11-10 along party lines Tuesday to approve former coal lobbyist Andrew Wheeler to head the Environmental Protection Agency.

WASHINGTON — The Senate Environment and Public Works Committee voted 11-10 along party lines Tuesday to approve former coal lobbyist Andrew Wheeler to head the Environmental Protection Agency.

Wheeler has been leading the agency on a de facto basis since former EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt resigned in July amid ethics concerns.
