Environmentalists Sue Feds to Protect Lynx

MISSOULA, Mont. (CN) - The Alliance for the Wild Rockies claims Interior Secretary Ken Salazar illegally revised critical habitat for the Canada lynx, omitting connecting territory the cat needs in the Rockies. Plaintiffs want the habitat protected as it was before the Feb. 20 revision.

Plaintiffs include the Native Ecosystems Council, the Center for Native Ecosystems, and the Sierra Club. Their lead counsel in Federal Court is Eric Huber with the Sierra Club, of Boulder, Colo.
