MISSOULA (CN) - Environmentalists object to the U.S. Forest Service's allowing the Montana National Guard to build a biathlon training facility "in the middle of a narrow wildlife corridor on the Continental Divide, just east of MacDonald Pass." Four groups say the training center, with a shooting range and a 50-car parking lot in the Helena National Forest, was approved illegally.
Plaintiffs Helena Hunters & Anglers, Alliance for the Wild Rockies, American Wildlands, and the Native Ecosystems Council are represented by Sarah McMillan with the Western Environmental Law Center.
