The Sierra Club challenged the U.S. EPA's granting the East Kentucky Power Plant Cooperative and the Southwestern Electric Power Co. permits to operate old coal-fired power plants, in DC Federal Court.

The Kentucky plant at issue is the William C. Dale Power Station, and the Arkansas one is the John W. Turk Jr. Power Plant.
