Massachusetts and the USA demand that BASF Corp., Browning-Ferris Industries, Allied Waste System, DuPont, Honeywell and a slew of others pay the cost of cleaning up the Sutton Brook Disposal Area Superfund site, in two complaints in Boston Federal Court.

DuPont de Nemours & Co., Honeywell International, Mallinckrodt, LLC, M/A-COM, Inc., Raytheon Co., Sears Roebuck and Co., Textron Systems Corporation, Town of Tewksbury, Verizon New England, Waste Management of Massachusetts, Waste Management Disposal Services of Massachusetts, Waste Management of New Hampshire, Zeneca Inc., Emhart Industries, Emhart Industries, Holt & Bugbee Co., Lockheed Martin Corp., Tewksbury State Hospital, The Gillette Company, 3M Co., American Science and Engineering, Anton's Cleaners, Cabot Corp., Leggett & Platt, Computervision, Fisons Corp., F.C. Meyer Packaging and Millen, SPX Corp., General Latex and Chemical Corp., Hewlett-Packard Co., and MIT.

A class action accuses El Paso Oil, Shell and others of polluting property with carcinogens. Here are the defendants in St. Charles Parish Court, La.: El Paso Industrial Energy, Shell Chemical, Motiva Enterprises, BP AMOCO Chemical Company, State of Louisiana, Pontchartrain Levee Board, State of Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, and Motiva Enterprises, a joint venture between Shell Oil Company, ARAMCO, Service Company and Saudi Refining Company.
