Six Los Angeles area musicians are falsely presenting themselves as "La Sonora Dinamita," a Colombian cumbia band formed in 1960, Apodaca Promotions says in a trademark complaint in Los Angeles Federal Court.

The '60s band "Thee Midniters" sued Conte Music and Broadcast Music Inc. in Los Angeles Superior Court, claiming the defendants used their tune, "Whittier Boulevard," in the HBO movie "Walk Out" and in rock band Los Straitjacket's tune, "Rock en Español."

Black Entertainment Television claims that Gwyneth Green, executive assistant to its CFO, defrauded BET of $43,235 with false invoices. BET says Green resigned upon being confronted; it wants the money back, and as much again in damages, in DC Federal Court.
