Bob James claims Universal Studios violated copyright on his 1977 tune "Tappan Zee" in the movie and soundtrack for "Definitely Maybe." James also sued EMI Records and a long list of others, in Los Angeles Federal Court.
Songwriters Jason Shapiro, Daryl Orenge, and Michael Grau claim The Hives, Polydor Records and others violated copyright on their song, "Why You," which they released as "Tick Tick Boom," in Los Angeles Federal Court.
