Entertainer Says Weekly Defamed Her

NASHVILLE (CN) - The Nashville Scene weekly newspaper defamed a woman by reporting that she was "giving handjobs in the middle of the afternoon" at her workplace, the woman claims in Davidson County Court. She also sued reporter P.J. Tobia.

Michelle Leigh Peacock, of Sumner County, Tenn., describes herself as a "lounge entertainer." She says the offending article was printed on Oct. 4, 2007 under the headline, "Not Doing Jack."

She also sued the weekly's corporate parent, the City Press.

She is represented by Lawrence Wilson.
