Engineer Blames Union Pacific For Crash

OMAHA (CN) - Morris McConnell, an engineer, claims the Union Pacific Railroad Co. caused the May 2, 2005 train crash near North Bend, Neb., that injured him, by dispatching him onto the wrong tracks, failing to keep track of its own trains, and forcing him to work so many hours on so many consecutive days, in violation of the Federal Employers Liability Act, that fatigue affected his reaction time.
