WASHINGTON (CN) - SEC Enforcement Director Robert Khuzami is resigning after four years during which he led a record number of inside-trading cases, the agency said.
Since his appointment in February 2009, the enforcement division has charges more than 150 people and entities, including 65 CEOs, CFOs and other officers, barred 36 people from the securities industry and collected $2.7 billion in relief for investors, the SEC said in a statement.
The SEC provided a link to the inside-trading cases it has brought in recent years.
Khuzami was a prosecutor for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Manhattan for 11 years before he joined the SEC.
The SEC did not say what Khuzami plans to do next. He is a graduate of the Boston University School of Law.
